Dr Anne Berk

Dr. Anne Berk
Doctor of Optometry
Anne Berk, OD, Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, is a problem-solver by nature. If a patient has a difficulty with an aspect of their vision or eye health, she enjoys finding the cause and determining the proper course of action. Dr. Anne takes an interest in her patients’ comfort and appearance, as well as their visual function. She is concerned with the whole patient, not just the eyes.

Dr. Anne is especially interested in the diagnosis and treatment of Ocular Surface Disease (OSD), otherwise known as “dry eye”. Controlling OSD can be difficult, and Dr. Anne is dedicated to educating patients on their options, and working with them to reduce symptoms in the easiest ways possible. A history of migraines makes Dr. Anne especially empathetic to patients who suffer from headaches. She has expertise in determining whether there is a visual component to headaches, and whether eyestrain or ocular disease plays a role in creating them. Dr. Anne attended Milwaukie High School, Lewis and Clark College, and Pacific University College of Optometery. She enjoys practicing optometry in the community in which she was raised. Dr. Anne has achieved national recognition as a knitting instructor/designer. She was certified as a TKGA Master Hand Knitter in 2003. She has created 2 DVDs for Interweave Knits (“Inside Intarsia”, “Intarsia InDepth”), had designs published in magazines such as Piecework, Interweave Knits, and the e-mag “Sockupied”. She travels several times a year to knitting conventions, where she teaches classes on techniques from Argyle socks to Zipper insertion into hand-knits, and is an instructor for Craftsy.com. Her book, “Annetarsia Knits”, was published in Summer of 2014. For more information, you can go to annetarsia.com. A distance runner for the past several years, Dr. Anne frequently runs in the annual Portland Marathon, ran the Boston Marathon in 2008 and 2010, and ran the Walt Disney World Marathon in 2014.
